Research

Drop everything!
Warning lights are flashing over the front door like the ON AIR outside a radio studio.
My lights say:

RESEARCH IN PROGRESS

This means a variety of things.

Piles of books accumulate. (I have books on a wide variety of subjects.)
Days are spent Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogle-ing
I walk around talking to myself.
Dinner is late.
Ironing never gets off the ground.
New characters are in my head demanding fresh fodder.
And if someone in India rings me up from a call centre, I am not a nice person.

You'd never know how much I enjoy it. You'd never suspect it'd be hard work.

Just don't disturb me.

I'm having too much fun.

Another reason I loved being a student. Research. Yum! My former husband kept saying, "Research ways to make money." Did I listen? Are we still married? Well, you know the answer to both. I still love research. Lost for days in spools of interlocking information. Lately I've taken to watching dvd's from the library on various subjects. This is great because I can eat snacks while I'm absorbing ideas. Very nice.

Zee just got a book called...

WHAT JANE AUSTEN ATE AND CHARLES DICKENS KNEW by Daniel Pool.

I love books like this. Detail, little things. Like the inside of old clothing dated back in time... we know the outside but how did they get made on theinside?

Or how do they pad that upholstered chair...

Research, and of course books!

BOOKS!!!!

LOVE BOOKS!!!!!
